Why, hello spring!

I’m grateful for the gentle arrival of spring. It feels like a dear old friend has come to visit. Spring is a magical and uplifting time of year. It inspires me to create stuff, try new things and get out and about with my camera – blossom is one of my favourite things to photograph.

This time last year, I started my YouTube channel, which motivated me to capture my simple everyday moments on film. It became a kind of visual diary of my life in Oxford and beyond, enabling me to develop my filming and editing skills.

So far, I’ve addressed my wardrobe, dressing table and the dusty storage boxes under our bed. It felt great to open the windows and dust away the winter months, welcoming in the energy of spring.

On Substack: Stepping away from social media and finding my creative flow

I often take steps to simplify my social media use, and in recent months, I’ve felt a strong desire to walk away. Social media is busy, noisy and full of advertisements, and as someone who prefers to live a calm, slow and simple life, it’s no longer a place I want to spend my time.
